Information from Leicester County Council and Harborough District Council that may be of interest to Shearsby residents

Dear Parish Councillors

I am writing to let you know that all seven district councils in Leicestershire have written to the Rt Hon Robert Jenrick, Secretary of State for the Ministries for Housing, Communities and Local Government to say that we are supportive of an East Midlands Combined Authority and welcome further discussions.

The Government is due to publish a white paper on devolution and the district councils are keen to be involved in discussions in a positive and proactive way, from an early stage. We would like to have an input into the shaping of the future of local government in the region and the opportunity to secure the best possible public services for residents.

This means including all tiers of local government.
