Blaby Planning Obligations and Developer Contributions Supplementary Planning Document Consultation

Blaby District Council are consulting on a new Planning Obligations and Developer Contributions Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). We want to hear the views of residents, community groups, businesses and others with an interest in the District.

This SPD is intended to replace the existing Planning Obligations and Developer Contributions SPD (2010). It sets out how Blaby District Council will ensure that new development contributes to the necessary provision of services, facilities, and infrastructure.

As a SPD it does not introduce new planning policies but instead provides more detailed guidance and advice in relation to existing planning policies. It should therefore be read together with the adopted Blaby District Local Plan Core Strategy (2013) and the adopted Blaby District Local Plan Delivery Development Plan Document (2019).

Following this consultation, we will consider the comments that have been made and take them into account when producing the final version of the SPD for adoption.

The consultation will run for 5 weeks between 22 March 2024 and 26 April 2024.

The deadline for comments is 5pm on 26 April 2024.

The draft SPD will be available to download on the Blaby District Council website

ahead of the consultation start date.

Paper copies of the document are available at the Council Offices, and at the libraries within the District.

However, please note that Blaby Library will be closed for essential maintenance work from Monday 22 January to Friday 29 March.
